INTRODUCTION
| If you are a regular reader of Postbordem Blog, you may have noticed that I haven’t produced much content this quarter. Well that is becauae I have been on a theology kick. Besides getting wrapped up in my bible and other Christian writings, I have been listening to a lot of podcast lately, so here are the best of the bunch that you may want to listen to yourselves.
THEOLOGY
The King’s Hall

Purpose Statement
“The King’s Hall exists to make self-ruled men to rule well and win the world.”
Theological Alignment
(CREC) Presbyterian, Paedobaptism, Reformed Baptist, Credobaptist, Complementarian, Postmillennialist, Cesasationalist
Host
- Brian Sauvé

- Guess speakers
Personal Take
A modern American Christian of the Evangelical persuasion might tell you that politics, statesmanship, and business, are earthly offices that no good Christian should pursue least they fall from the straight and narrow. The host of the King’s Hall podcast would respond contrary to that sentiment probably with their common charge, “All of Christ for all of life.”
The host have taken a stance to counter feminism, the secular indoctrination of American minds, the abdication of male leadership (in all areas of life), and the minimalization of Christian values. They stand on the tradition of Reformed theology, and encourage men to use the gifts and talents entrusted to them by God. They’re willing to give voice to a conservative worldview, pursue the maximalization of Christian values, and share the history of Christianity. I have been listening to them for years now, recommended.
(Geared toward a male audience.)

Desiring God

Purpose Statement
“God is most glorified in us
when we are most satisfied in him.”
Theological Alignment
Reformed Baptist, Credobaptist, Complementarian, Charismatic
Host
- John Piper
- Tony Reinke
Personal Take
I would describe the mindset and statements of John Piper as “applicable christian theology” with the stated purpose to help believers become more satisfied in thier walk with God. Sifting through his work, I have found plenty of fuel for my ever increasing desire to know God better, to evangelize, to read the Bible more thoroughly, and to provide good biblical counsel for others.

The Sword & The Trowel

Purpose Statement
“Founders Ministries is committed to encouraging the recovery of the gospel and the biblical reformation of local churches.”
Theological Alignment
Reformed Baptist/Confessional Baptist, Credobaptist, Complementarian
Host
- Tom Ascol
- Graham Gunden
- Guest speakers
Personal Take
A recent addition to my regular listening. I found Founders Ministry in my treasure hunt for robust Christian confessions, statements, and documents of the past. The host seem to have branched out of the Southern Baptist tradition here in America, and are less counter-cultural and more reformational in countenance. Besides referencing the aforementioned documents, the hosts also address modern politics and offer pastoral advice.
Bright Hearth

Purpose Statement
“…All about recovering the lost arts of homemaking and the productive Christian household.”
Theological Alignment
Complementarian
Host
- Brian Sauvé
- Lexy Sauvé
Personal Take
Husband, pastor, and host Brian Suavé along with his wife and co-host, Lexy Suavé, created Bright Hearth with the stated objective to help other married couples, or unmarried singles, to develop productive Christian homes and to preserve the art of homemaking. The series kicks off with a reference to the sermon on the Mt. given by Jesus Christ, comparing Christians to a city on a hill which is supposed to be a light unto the world so that others may see their good works and give glory to the Father. This mission starts in the home and is necessarily made clear to each member of the household so that they may know how to relate to one another and the world at large.
The second statement made by the host, so as to properly orient thier listeners, is that “homemaking is a specifically feminine task [that] is not given to men, no matter how much stay at home dads want to think that it has been given to fathers or feminist want to make it that way…it’s also something that’s given to all women, all females, of any age or stage or season of life.” From this starting point, the podcast covers such ground as deathbed hospitality, Christian education, dating, finding a Godly spouse, book reviews, how to treat peers, financial preparedness, and many other facinating subjects. Having quickly become one of my favorite podcast to listen, I would recommend it to others.
(Geared more towards a female audience, but men can get plenty out of it, too).
